GlobalLinker (GL) spoke to the Managing Director, Sridhar Reddy Arumalla, about his business journey.

Excerpts from the interview.

Foundation for growth
Esennar is one of the reputed transformer manufacturers in India, with a comprehensive world class design and manufacturing facility in Hyderabad. Realising the inevitability of progress linked to energy and recognising the need for efficient distribution systems, we started Esennar with the promise of reliability, endurance and efficiency.

Since formation in 2000, Esennar powered its way into the the elevated league delivering world class technically honest transformers with BIS/ISI 1180 & BEE license. We are also certified ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 company. With two decades of experience we understand the challenges of industry and always strive to find innovative solutions. We have state of the art facilities in design, manufacture and testing to supply custom-built oil cooled, dry type/cast resin transformers. Our pan India presence with 14 regional offices provides comprehensive sales and service activities.

Key differentiators

Esennar is best equipped in its class with present day technologies, and distinguishes itself as one of the market leader in design, manufacturing and supply of high quality transformers with a strong commitment to enhance customer satisfaction through continual improvement of quality systems and performance of employees to achieve excellent business results.

‘Technically honest’ is the regular feedback term awarded by our esteemed customers which has now become our hallmark.

Challenges to grow bigger, better and faster

Challenges remain always for quality manufacturers because market realisation versus cost always will race with each other. Transformer market is predominantly unorganised with many small participants which make the market more competitive and price sensitive. If the manufacturer focuses on quality manufacturing of transformers, they can sustain the competition and have incremental growth.

In this industry, 85% of the total product cost is being invested in the raw material even prior to the customer order is placed. Therefore, need good investment management, financial management and supply chain management.

Achieving a balance between customers who can support with payments and also customers who can give increased volume-based business is vital. Our strategy is to reach more diversified customers and maintaining a balance between PSUs and private orders.

We firmly believe that digitization is a smart way to increase productivity of an organisation. Globallinker in furthering digitization and innovative technology will boost the efficiency and performance of businesses.

Supply of CRGO is a challenge as it needs to be imported and there is less supply. Forecasting of the material is required.

Improved service response and service reliability is a must. We ensure this by having regional presence in most parts of the country (14 PAN India sales and service network).

Transformer manufacturer should provide guarantee/warranty and after sales service to the customer even for the transformer components for the original equipment manufacturer. Stringent supplier development with periodic evaluation is required.
