In its efforts to motivate exporters, FIEO instituted the “Niryat Shree” and “Niryat Bandhu” Awards in the year 1995-96. The “Niryat Shree” is awarded to One Star Export House/ Two Star Export House/ Three Star Export House/Four Star Export House/ Five Star Export Houses, Multi-Product Groups (Non-Export Houses), Service Providers, E-Commerce exporters for their excellent export performance and “Niryat Bandhu” is awarded to Banks/ Export Promotion Councils and Commodity Boards for excellent support services rendered for the promotion of exports. Nominations in both categories are invited from members and the same are short-listed based on their export performance and incremental growth in exports.
Niryat Shree Awards are given in the following categories namely:
1) Highest foreign Exchange Earner
2) Agriculture and Plantation Sector
3) Chemicals, drugs, pharmaceuticals and allied Sector
4) Engineering and Electronics Sector
5) Gem and Jewellery Sector
6) Leather and leather Sector
7) Textiles Sector including RMG, made-ups, yarn, handicrafts & carpets
8) Residual Sector not covered above
9) Service provider
10) Woman Entrepreneur
“Niryat Bandhu” Awards are awarded to supporting institutions like:
1) Banks
2) Export Promotion Councils/ Commodity Boards/ Export Development Authority
One Star Export House, Two Star Export House, Three Star Export House, Four Star Export House, Five Star Export House /Multi-Product Groups
1. Minimum exports in each category should not be less than:
MSME | Rs 5 Crores in each year |
Non-MSME | Rs 10 Crores in each year |
2. Double weightage will be given to exports to Focus LAC, Focus Africa, Focus CIS & Focus ASEAN +2.

Service Provider
Minimum exports in each category should not be less than:
MSME | Rs 5 Crores in each year |
Non-Status Holder Service Provider | Rs 3 Crores in each year |
Outstanding Women Entrepreneur
1. The applicant should be the Proprietor/ Wholetime Director/ Managing Partner/ Chairman/ Managing Director/ Employee not below the rank of President
2. Minimum exports in each category should not be less than:
MSME | Rs 5 Crores in each year |
Non-MSME | Rs 10 Crores in each year |
3. Double weightage will be given to exports to Focus LAC, Focus Africa, Focus CIS and Focus ASEAN +2
Highest Foreign Exchange Earner
Minimum foreign exchange earnings of Rs 1000 crores in 2020-21
OR
Average foreign exchange earnings of Rs 1000 crores during the years 2018-19, 2019-20 & 2020-21
Weightage: Only one weightage will apply:
1. Double weightage for exports of goods of small scale and cottage sector including own manufactured as well as traded goods of such sector OR
Countries covered in the Focus CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) Programme
Russian Federation, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan
Countries covered in the Focus Africa Programme
Algeria, Angola, Botswana, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Libya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, Seychelles, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe
Countries covered in Focus LAC Programme

Niryat Bandhu Award For Nationalised /Private Banks / Foreign Banks
i) a) Value of export credit disbursed during 2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21
b) Percentage terms of export credit during the last three years
ii) Break up of Percentage of export credit allowed to the following sectors during the last three years.
a) MSME
b) Non MSME
iii) Percentage growth in opening accounts of exporters to disburse foreign exchange during the last two years.
iv) Percentage growth in opening new branches of a bank extending export credit during the last two years.
(v) Number of Gold Card issued to exporters
(vi) Number of overseas branch opened
(vii) Number of seminar/ events sponsored for exporters
Export Promotion Council/ Commodity Board/ Export Development Authority
1. Total membership of the organisation as on 31.3.2021.
2. Percentage growth in membership during 2020-21 over 2019-20.
3. Number of International trade fairs/exhibitions/buyer-seller-meets/trade delegations including virtual mode organized by the Council during last 3 years
4. Percentage growth in MDA applications received by the Council in 2020-21 over 2019-20.
5. Number of offices opened in last 3 years
