In order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.

The alerts from EU generated during 6 - 12 July 2021 are as under:

1. Alert: Chloramphenicol in frozen blanched shrimps from India.

Notification from: Poland
Risk: Undecided
Notification type: Food - Information notification for attention - Border control - consignment released
Date: 07-07-2021

2. Alert: Exceedance of maximum residue limits for chlorpyrifos in cumin from India.

Notification from: Germany
Risk: Serious
Notification type: Food - Alert notification - Official control on the market
Action Taken: Withdrawal from the market
Date: 06-07-2021

3. Alert: Lead in food supplement from India.

Notification from: Finland
Risk: Serious
Notification type: Food - Border rejection notification - Border control - consignment detained
Action Taken: Placed under customs seals
Date: 06-07-2021

4. Alert: Presence of Salmonella in sesame seeds from India.

Notification from: Poland
Risk: Serious
Notification type: Food - Border rejection notification - Border control - consignment detained
Action Taken: Return to consignor
Date: 06-07-2021
