In order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.

The alerts from EU generated during 6^th - 12^th October 2020 are as under:

1. Alert: Aflatoxins (B1 = 27.5; Tot. = 29.1 µg/kg - ppb) in whole dried chillies from India.

Notification from: United Kingdom
Risk: Serious
Notification type: Food - border rejection - border control - consignment detained
Action Taken: Destruction
Date: 12-10-2020

2. Alert: Missing import declaration for chilli peppers from India.

Notification from: Slovenia
Risk: Not Serious
Notification type: Food - border rejection - border control - consignment detained
Action Taken: Official detention
Date: 08-10-2020

3. Alert: Shigatoxin-producing Escherichia coli (VTEC /25g) and Salmonella (presence /25g) in dried fenugreek leaves from the United Arab Emirates, with raw material from India.

Notification from: Germany
Risk: Serious
Notification type: Food - alert - official control on the market
Action Taken: Withdrawal from the market
Date: 07-10-2020

4. Alert: Aflatoxins (B1 = 11; Tot. = 13 µg/kg - ppb) in groundnuts from India, via Switzerland.

Notification from: Netherlands
Risk: Serious
Notification type: Food - border rejection - border control - consignment detained
Action Taken: Official detention
Date: 06-10-2020
