In order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.
The alerts from EU generated during 29th June - 05th July 2021 are as under:
1. Alert: Chlorpyrifos found in wheat kernels from India.
- Notification from: Denmark
- Risk: Undecided
- Notification type: Food - Information notification for attention - Official control on the market
- Action Taken: Withdrawal from the market
- Date: 02-07-2021
2. Alert: Unauthorised substance chlorpyrifos in sesame seeds from India.
- Notification from: Hungary
- Risk: Undecided
- Notification type: Food - Border rejection notification - Border control - consignment detained
- Action Taken: Official detention
- Date: 02-07-2021
3. Alert: Salmonella in cumin powder from India.
- Notification from: Finland
- Risk: Serious
- Notification type: Food - Border rejection notification - Border control - consignment detained
- Action Taken: Placed under customs seals
- Date: 01-07-2021
4. Alert: Aflatoxins in groundnuts from India.
- Notification from: Italy
- Risk: Serious
- Notification type: Food - Border rejection notification - Border control - consignment detained
- Action Taken: Destruction
- Date: 30-06-2021
5. Alert: Ethylene oxide in organic linseed from India.
- Notification from: Germany
- Risk: Undecided
- Notification type: Food - Information notification for attention - Company's own check
