In order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.
The alerts from EU generated during 28 December 2021- 03 January 2022 are as under:
1. Alert: Aflatoxins (aflatoxin B1 and total aflatoxin) found in Indian ginger, via the United Kingdom and the Netherlands
- Notification from: Germany
- Risk: Serious
- Notification type: Food - Alert notification - Official control on the market
- Action Taken: Withdrawal from the market
- Date: 29-12-2021
2. Alert: Pesticide residues found in asparagus beans from India
- Notification from: Germany
- Risk: Serious
- Notification type: Food - Information notification for attention - Border control - consignment released
- Action Taken: Destruction
- Date: 29-12-2021
