In order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.
The alerts from EU generated during 26th May - 2nd June 2020 are as under:
Alert: Germany has withdrawn Indian origin Leather wallet from market due to chromium VI (measured value: 10.1 mg/kg).
The leather in the product contains chromium VI (measured value: 10.1 mg/kg). Chromium (VI) is sensitising and can trigger allergic reactions. / The product does not comply with the REACH Regulation.
Measures taken by economic operators: Recall of the product from end users, withdrawal of the product from market(By: Distributor, Importer)
Description: Brown leather wallet, with one coin, two credit card and two banknote compartments as well as an ID card compartment lined with brown textile.
