In order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.
The alerts from EU generated during 21st – 27th April 2020 are as under:
Alert: Unauthorised novel food roasted fox nuts (Euryale ferox) from India

- Action Taken: Placed under customs seals

Alert: Prohibited substance nitrofuran (metabolite) furazolidone (AOZ) (1.26 µg/kg - ppb) in frozen raw peeled shrimps from India
- Notification from: France
- Risk: Serious
- Notification type: Food - border rejection - border control - consignment detained
- Action Taken: Destruction
- Date: 21-04-2020
Alert: Absence of health certificate(s) and of certified analytical report for betel leaves from India
- Notification from: France
- Risk: Not serious
- Notification type: Food - border rejection - border control - consignment detained
- Action Taken: Import not authorised
- Date: 21-04-2020
