In order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.

The alert from EU generated during 19th November – 25th November 2019 is as under:

Alert: cadmium (1.4 mg/kg - ppm) in frozen cuttlefish from India

Notification from: Italy
Risk: Serious
Notification type: Food - information for attention - official control on the market
Action Taken: Withdrawal from consumers
Date: 21-11-2019

Alert: high content of cyanide (203 mg/kg - ppm) in linseed from India, via Germany

Notification from: Austria
Risk: Undecided
Notification type: Food - alert - official control on the market
Action Taken: Withdrawal from market
Date: 21-11-2019

Alert: glass fragment (1cm) in organic jackfruit goulash from Lithuania, with raw material from India, packaged in Germany

Notification from: Germany
Risk: Serious
Notification type: Food - alert – consumer complaint
Action Taken: official detention
Date: 20-11-2019
