In order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.
The alerts from EU generated during 17 - 23 November 2020 are as under:
1. Alert: Germany has withdrawn Indian origin Key ring from market due to Chromium VI
The leather in the product contains chromium VI (measured value up to: 12.4 mg/kg). Chromium (VI) is sensitising, can trigger allergic reactions and can cause cancer. The product does not comply with REACH Regulation.
Measures taken by economic operators: Recall of the product from end users, Stop of sales, withdrawal of the product from the market (By: distributor)
