In order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.                                  
 
The alerts from EU generated during 15th - 28th September 2020 are as under:
 
1. Alert: Germany has withdrawn Indian origin Leather jacket from market due to chromium VI (measured value up to: 14 mg/kg).
The leather in the product contains chromium VI (measured value up to: 14 mg/kg). Chromium (VI) is sensitising, can trigger allergic reactions and can cause cancer. The product does not comply with REACH Regulation.
 
Measures ordered by public authorities (to: Retailer): Destruction of the product, Withdrawal of the product from the market.
