n order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.
The alerts from EU generated during 12 - 18 January 2021 are as under:
1. Alert: Unauthorised substance ethylene oxide in various quantities in sesame seeds and organic hulled with sesame seeds from India.

- Risk: Serious

2. Alert: Unauthorised substance chlorpyrifos (0.054 mg/kg - ppm) in black sesame seeds from India.

- Action Taken: Informing consignor

3. Alert: Withdrawal from the market of organic anise cakes from Spain, with raw material from India, via the Netherlands possibly contaminated with unauthorised substance ethylene oxide.
